Position Title: Information Technology/Assurance Specialist II
Location: Westlake, TX
Position Description:
The IT/IA primary function is working within Special Access Programs (SAPs) supporting Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, such as HQ Air Force, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) and Military Compartments efforts. The position will provide day-to-day support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities.

We are seeking an Information Technology/Assurance Specialist II to carry out the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Establish complex operational software configuration controls and system interfaces for computer system(s) assigned
  • Maintain file servers, Firewalls, network access, Security Monitoring Systems and system documentation as required
  • Analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance
  • Prepare system for operational use and support operational tests
  • Review, prepare, and update authorization packages
  • Notify customer when changes occur that might affect authorization accreditation
  • Conduct cybersecurity portion of the self-inspections checklist
  • Review and provide technical and cyber security coordination on all Bodies of Evidence that make- up the authorization package
  • Identify any and all vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures
  • Ensure information systems and network appliances are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and practices
  • Perform Video-Teleconferencing VTC System Administration, Scheduling, & Configuration
  • Provide External Information System(s) Client Support
  • Perform account creations, changes, & deletions on multiple authorization boundaries
  • Perform Help Desk & troubleshooting activities
  • Perform Hardware/Software System Configuration, upgrades and modifications
  • Perform system and network appliance patching activities
  • Provide Government-Issued Laptop Support
  • Assist in Media Control & Accountability activities
  • Perform COMSEC account/equipment management activities

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5-7 years related experience
  • SAP Experience
  • Prior performance in roles such as System, Network Administrator or Information Technology/Assurance Specialists
  • Must meet position and certification requirements outlined in DoD Directive 8570.01-M for Information Assurance Manager II within 6 months of the date of hire.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2012R2 Server, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010/2016, Microsoft Windows 7/10 operating systems (OS) administration and associated hardware
  • Working knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies and data backup technologies to include communication security (COMSEC) integration
  • Working knowledge of Risk Management Framework, Common Criteria, and System Security Policy as they relate to Assessments and Authorizations
  • Working knowledge and current relevant experience with PL2 systems; experience with PL3 & PL4 cross domain solutions is desired
  • Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

The ISSE III serves as senior engineer for secure architecture design, risk mitigation, and cyber threat analysis. Works closely with ISSMs and system owners to ensure compliance with DoD and NIST security frameworks.

Position Description:

We are seeking a Mid Level ISSE to carry out the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Services to support Information System Engineering performed by the Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) at a minimum, shall consist of the following activities:
    • Identify information protection needs for an IS and Network Environment
    • Define IS and Network Environment security requirements in accordance with applicable cybersecurity requirements
    • Design security architectures for use within the IS and Network Environment
    • Design and develop cybersecurity-enabled products for use within an IS and Network Environment
    • Integrate and/or implement security with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) for use within an IS and Network Environment
    • Develop and implement security designs for new or existing network system(s). Ensure that the design of hardware, operating systems, and software applications adequately address cybersecurity requirements for the IS and Network Environment
    • Design, develop, and implement network security measures that provide confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation
    • Design, develop, and implement specific cybersecurity countermeasures for the IS and Network Environment
    • Develop interface specifications for the IS and Network Environment
    • Develop approaches to mitigate IS and Network Environment vulnerabilities and recommend changes to network or network system components as needed
    • Ensure that network system(s) designs support the incorporation of client directed cybersecurity vulnerability solutions

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance w/ SCI and a CI-Polygraph eligibility
  • Must be a U.S Citizen
  • Minimum 5 years experience, or equivalent education/experience; Doctorate plus 4 years; Masters plus 3 years; Associates plus 7 years; or H.S./GED plus 10 years.
  • Familiarity with the use and operation of security tools including Tenable Nessus and/or Security Center, IBM Guardium, HP WeblInspect, Network Mapper (NMAP), and/or similar applications
  • Hold at least one of the following certifications:
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (or Associate)
    • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) CASP CE
    • Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP)
    • CISSP- Information System Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP)
    • CISSP- Information System Security Architecture Professional (ISSAP)
